Chapter 13
Tabitha stood protectively in front of Slash.
"G-get lost Shadow. Y-you're done!" she stammered.
"HAHAHA! You really think i'm going to buy that?" he marched up and shoved her aside. He grabbed Slash by the collar.
"What's wrong bitch? Too weak to fight back?"
"Surprise" Slash said, smirking. Shadow looked down in time to see a glowing blue orb being slammed into his chest. The resulting explosion flung him across the room, and threw Slash against the wall. The both of them stood slowly and drew their swords and took turns slashing at each other. Suddenly, Shadow had the upper hand, and was slashing Slash to bits.
"SLASH!" Tabitha screamed. Slash had both of his arms slashed. Blood was slowly dribbling from the creases of his arms, impairing use of his arms. Shadow hovered over him.
"You're weak. I am the ultimate lifeform." he sneered, and went for a downward stab.
"Not on my watch!" Tabitha shouted. She rammed Shadow in the side, and he dropped his sword.
"Tabitha..... look out.." Slash called weakly. She turned to see him clasping the handle of his sword, and the blade glowing the same orange as the orb that killed chaos.
"shit!" she jumped to the side, and slash swung his sword, forcing a thick spurt of blood out of his arms. The blade released the energy in a long crescent shape that slashed shadow directly across his chest.
"Uh!!!" shadow grunted and collapsed to his knees, blood flowing freely from the gash on his chest. Slash dropped his sword and fell to the floor, blood flowing from the slash marks on his arms. The two of them were both bleeding out at the same pace, and she knew sh could only save one of them, but who?
